rainbow baptism

IMG_2102in a sunny meadow

hidden behind trees

a rainbow and a lake await

the crunching of leaves

underneath the feet

earth colors in sight

spider webs hanging

crickets sing joyfully

the edge draws near

the rainbow is exposed

a continuous circle

of life giving color

painting the soul

with each new hue

permeating heat on skin

enjoying the moment

immersed in joy

walking in confidence

observing all colors

approaching water

jump, twist, dive

water absorbs body

weightless wonderland

a blurry sun shines

the IN is now the OUT

approaching clean air

exhale, inhale

swim towards the sun

step firmly on solid ground

engaged with pure light

Child of God

Praying with Kids

I was asked to speak about prayer for the children at church on Sunday. Sometimes I have trouble understanding what I’m reading in the bible. Therefore, I will re-write verses in my journal using words and grammar that I understand. This is what I wrote for the children about prayer.

dear god

Matthew 6:6-8 is about the manner in which to pray.

6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

But you, when you pray, enter in to your heart, and when you shut the door to the world, pray to your Father who is in your heart; and your Father who see’s in your heart will come to you.

Pray with all your heart.

7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

But when you pray, do not ask for the same things over and over, as the nonbelievers do: they think the more they talk the more they are heard.

Don’t ask for the same things because it shows a lack of faith.

8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

Do not be like them; your Father knows what you need before you even ask.

Believe your father knows what you need and knows what is best for you..

Matthew 6:9-13 is about how to pray.

9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Pray like this; Our Father who is in heaven, Holy is your name.

Heavenly Father, you are so awesome.

10 Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Your kingdom is here. Your will is on earth, as it is in heaven.

Your spirit shines everywhere and I’m so happy I can have you with me here on earth.

11 Give us this day our daily bread.

Give us our daily lesson.

Thank you so much for teaching me so I can be a better leader for you.

12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And forgive us of our mistakes, as we forgive those who have hurt us.

Please forgive me for punching my brother in the arm. Even though he punched me first, I forgive him because I love him and he is my brother.

13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Thank you for blessing me with great parents who teach me to choose the right. I know that I am protected by you, forever. In Jesus name. Amen.

forgiveness 2

the pain in my heart

it is hard to let go

many things happened

and I cannot grow

if only I’d give myself

the gift of remission

my heart could heal

relieving this condition

forgiving is personal

for my heart and soul

no one else is waiting

my ego is in control

i must give the power

back to my creator

stop living in the past

stop being a traitor

forgiveness sees no sin

there are no records of wrong

it is time to let go

move back where I belong

it feels good to be free

uplifted and light

my ego released

freed from my plight

there is power in now

and forgetting the past

my smile shines bright

I am free at last

The Nature of a Water Droplet

Certain things must take place in order for a rainbow to form. But, first it is important to know that pure white light consists of ROYGBIV; red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Also, colors have different wave lengths; red colors have longer wave lengths than blue colors. Here are some facts about rainbow formation.

1. The sun has to be shining (pure white light)

2. There has to be droplets of water in the atmosphere (water is the medium for light)

3. The observer must have his/her back towards the sun

4. The water droplet must first refract the light towards normal allowing the light to continue on a straight path

5. There must be an internal reflection that moves the light away from the normal path

6. Upon reflection, the light is once again refracted out of the water droplet.

7. The angle of deviation causes red colors to appear on the outside and blue colors to appear on the inside. Red colors have longer wavelengths. They are reflected at a steeper angle towards the outside of the rainbow.

***A rainbow is actually circular. There is no beginning or end.
When observing a rainbow from an airplane; the rainbow appears circular.
Earth stops the projection of light and causes a “rainbow bridge” when observing from the ground.

The character of a droplet has no judgement, sees no errors, and no opposites. The droplet of pure water, from the sky, simply embraces light. After embracing the light, an internal reflection happens before exiting. The droplet naturally reflects pure light. It doesn’t let it continue on its normal path. Instead the light is reflected inside the droplet. Then released to show the results of the droplets work; the inner beauty of reflected light in water, a rainbow. To sum this up, the main characteristic of water is, “no judgement.” The droplet embraces, reflects, and releases pure light.

***Rainbows can be seen at night if the moon is full and it is raining.
However, it is very rare because the moon doesn’t shine as bright as the sun.

Humans need to use the nature of water as a “life” model.  Pure light represents ALL experiences. The first refraction represents embracing the interaction. The inner reflection represents our choices. Then the second refraction is our inner beauty or ugliness shining outward. A water droplet does not reflect blackness, it reflects light to produce a rainbow. Humans have freewill. We are capable of reflecting beauty or ugliness. It is our choice what we reflect into the world. We are mediums for experiences. This is why we need to use our freewill correctly. It is why we have to learn from ALL of our experiences. When we don’t learn we are abusing freewill. Unless we choose to properly reflect our experiences our freewill will destroy us and quite possibly the world. We have to get into nature. We have the ability to be like the water droplet. It is in our human nature to reflect beauty.  All we have to do is embrace life experiences, use freewill correctly, be like a water droplet,  and send rainbows into the world.

sun beams shimmer in trees

showing God given graces

a cure for the accident prone

I woke up and ate half a banana and drank a glass of lemon water. I gear up for a bike ride and head outside. I set my Pandora to “I want to exercise” station. Turn on the GPS app to track my speed, mileage, and calories burned. Clip my cleats in the pedals, and head out for a 10 mile bike ride down highway 65.

I start riding against the wind, which is what I prefer at the beginning. The wind brought a stench as I ride by a pig farm so perfectly nestled near my house and off the highway. Oooh, it’s an awful smell. I can taste it in my mouth. I pedal faster. Eventually, the smell subsides and I start riding in between cornfields. The allergens in the air are very thick. I have trouble breathing and I reach down to unzip the bike pouch and pull out my emergency inhaler. I take one puff and drop it in the highway. I don’t pick it up because it’s nearly empty and I don’t want to slow down or even stop.  I keep riding. I ride by a cemetery. Strange feelings possess me each time I ride by a cemetery.  It’s a peaceful feeling but freaky at the same time. I eventually make it to the small town which is my turn-around point.

I start to ride back home and pick up my momentum. Before leaving the town, my only option is to turn left to get back on the highway. There is a truck coming towards me from the highway and a car coming behind me to turn onto the highway. I decide that I don’t want to be in the middle of the situation.  I start to twist my feet to unclasp the cleats from the pedals. First, the right one. Then while I try to remove the left one, I brake too hard and simultaneously move my body weight forward in order to put my feet on the ground. Too much forward movement causes me to be in a reverse wheelie. Not just a small reverse wheelie, I am vertical. In mid-air, I sense I’ve been here before and began tucking to roll into the street. My left foot is still attached to the pedal and the bike moves with me. It’s crazy that the things people learned as children may actually help them as an adult. Being in the air and falling forward remind me of diving and I instinctively tucked and rolled. I know angels watch out for me as I didn’t feel my body hit the street.

I pick myself up off the ground and pick up my bike and start to stare. I am shaken. I start to think about all my recent mishaps on my bike; falling over in my driveway and spraining my wrist and a near miss from a semi’s rolling stop at an intersection.  The thought of giving up biking crossed my mind. I am angry and mad at myself. I stand in the street looking at my bike and shaking my head. A couple in a car stop to make sure I’m alright. A thought about calling my husband to come pick me up enters my mind. I got my emotions and myself together, hopped on my bike and road back home.

On the way home I begin to think as I start to pass through the corn fields again. I begin to worry what will happen next. Then I was inspired and  a thought entered my mind. “I’m trusting other people too much with my life.” Reality hit me and I realize that I am trusting other people to take care of me way too often.  I need to take care of myself.  Unfortunately, I realize that this problem leaks into a lot of situations in my life. It is one thing to trust people with your heart and it’s another thing to trust people with your life. Not everyone can be trusted with my life. I trust my oncologist and my husband, but to trust a stranger in a vehicle is insane.

Unfortunately, I’m not taking care of myself as much as I should. Thankfully, it is an easy problem to fix. I consciously became aware of this a couple of weeks ago and have been trying to analyze situations at an earlier time. After all, I did decide to stop and not take part in the most recent accident, it could have been much worse. Timing is everything when it comes to taking care of yourself.  Basically, I’m waiting too long and I’m getting hurt because of my bad timing. Like I said this leaks into almost every area of my life. To put this in more easier terms to understand, I NEED TO SLOW DOWN! Being accident prone has everything to do with timing and the cure for this is to slow down. The cure is slowing down and paying more attention to your surroundings and giving yourself time to analyze the situation.

How else can slowing down help? Living is the present requires the action of slowing down. So living in the present could possibly be the cure for the accident prone people too. Think about it. Slowing down makes us more aware of our surroundings and results in quicker reaction times when put into a potentially scary situation. Slowing down gives us a chance to see what could possibly happen. Living in the present allows us to tap into our intuition and learn to trust our instincts. Stop, look, and listen; I think I learned this before kindergarten. Stop, look, and listen is not just for crossing the street. It’s for life.

a kind soul

I’m happy to report that I’m not sore and I only have a bruise on my leg. Thank you to the angels who watch over me!

Hindsight: If I stopped and picked up my inhaler, in the beginning, I would have avoided the whole situation. I would have been behind all these cars, not right in the middle. I could have rode straight on through and I would not need to brake and therefore, I would not fly over my handlebars. If only I stopped.

Negative Energy & Rainbows, Butterflies, and Cupcakes

My Dear Friends,

Take a look around you and decide how you want to react to situations in your life. Deciding to be neutral can have negative effects on your soul as much as being an eternal pessimist. It is because negative energy is heavier than positive energy. Negative energy holds down and positive energy lifts up. Remaining neutral is choosing to live in duality; a little positive and a little negative. This is not good for your soul because there is a constant fight between the two opposites. Even the most neutral people still need positive things to happen in their lives. Another point of view, if negative energy weighs one pound and positive energy weighs 1 ounce,  you will need 17 ounces of energy to feel positive. 16 ounces would put you to neutral.

When negativity is ignored it causes damage to your soul. Repression is damaging. Ride the wave and experience the feeling. Open up to the negative experience.  Understand the feelings. Forgive the experience. That is the best positive attitude you can have towards negativity. Then move past neutrality and be positive. Spread the positive energy. Be interconnected and project the energy to the world. Do everything you love to do. Take of your shoes and dance in the grass. The energy you project into the world is the energy the world will project to you. Spread Good Sparks and receive Good Sparks.  Fill your world with rainbows, butterflies, and cupcakes.
